So, I have to say that I have NEVER done this... done it willingly or out of force... Let me begin with the prelude to this evening's "victory"
Today was our faculty/staff retreat... those three words should just scream stress. I woke up at 4:30am, and was out the door at 6:10am, at school at 6:30 and setting up/ printing/ folding/ carrying chairs/ laying out supplies... by 8:15 things were ready and the teachers/ staff were finishing up breakfast. By noon, mass was done, and the troops were heading home for the afternoon, or off to seclude themselves in their class rooms to prepare for classes tomorrow. It was an incredibly stressful day, especially since many have pre-conceptions of what the retreat is from unfortunate past experiences. There was a lot riding on it.
So this evening, I got home, we had a lovely beautiful dinner of spaghetti squash with sauteed peppers, tomato sauce and shrimp. I realized I REALLY needed to work off the stress that was still pent up in me. Called BAC to see if there was a way to use the facilities without being a member. Of course there is! lol.
I got to the BAC and hopped on a treadmill. Yes. I paid 15 dollars to get onto a treadmill and work off my aggravation. However, the victory is in the fact that I RAN for 25 full minutes! I normally can't run for FIVE minutes, but I pulled off TWENTY FREAKING FIVE minutes. Who'd have thought that I'd pull that one off?! With some serious power walking as my "cool down" for another 5 minutes... Okay for some of you runners, maybe this isn't much...for me, I might as well have just completed a marathon- that was huge for me.
So just thought I'd share. :-)
Good night!
